About Nicky
I am qualified in a wide range of therapeutic disciplines which allows me to help clients to explore their individual challenges, in whatever way works best for them, using an individualised and holistic approach. My aim is to empower clients so that they begin to feel more confident and more in control of their own futures, learning to rely more on their own resources and less on outside help. I work confidently and sensitively at all times, although do enjoy a laugh and a chat with clients,

I run my own private therapy practice as well as working at Imara in Nottingham, as a Trauma Care Practitioner, and for two local cancer charities - Birstall Bags and Together Against Cancer - as their 'talking therapist'
My Experience
I have built up a wide range of experience over the years that I have been practising and have had the pleasure of working alongside some inspirational and helpful people, both colleagues and clients.
I am the Counsellor for two wonderful Leicester cancer charities; Birstall Bags and Together Against Cancer. Both offer a range of therapeutic alternative therapies for cancer sufferers and their families, and I have been involved with them for a number of years.
I also work with Imara in Nottingham. This is a charity that was set up specifically to offer therapeutic and advocacy support to families in Nottinghamshire where there has been a disclosure of sexual abuse to the police. In the time that I have been there the remit has widened to also offer support where there has been domestic violence, and we work alongside all involved agencies, from Social Care to CAMHS, and of course the police.
My private practice offers a blended therapeutic approach, as a result of all the different disciplines I am trained in, which means that I fit my therapies around the client rather more than I could if I majored in only one approach. This works really well and means that I can adapt each session quickly and effectively if needs be.
I am a Lifespan Integration Practitioner, trained to Level 2. This is another trauma focused approach and will broaden my approach to trauma work in a way that will integrate what has happened to my clients into the normal run of things.
