About Zelka
I graduated from kindergarten teacher training and gained my first and most significant professional experience in a kindergarten setting. In 1989, I began working at the Psychotherapy Department of the Psychiatric Clinic in Pécs, where I obtained my nursing qualification. In 1997, I graduated with honors from the Department of Psychology at JPTE BTK, where I have been teaching psychology since 1994. I earned my scientific degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Pécs, where I received my doctorate summa cum laude in behavioral sciences in 2002. I defended my diploma as a counseling psychologist at the Faculty of Psychology of ELTE in 2004. I lectured at ELTE for ten years and at Károli Gáspár University for four years.
My psychological approach is well demonstrated in my book Snoring. I believe that even small problems can lead to significant issues—snoring by one partner, for instance, can cause frustration and marital conflict. Conversely, snoring can be a seemingly minor issue that highlights a deeper underlying conflict.
My primary goal is to help individuals in relationships or marriages build more harmonious connections by improving their communication, problem-solving skills, and conflict-resolution abilities.
In my private practice, I work alongside my husband, Miklós Baktay, whenever possible. We focus on the strengths and resources of our clients, drawing on their previous experiences to help them move toward a solution.
The topics of my dissertations, theses, and conference presentations span a wide range, including communication, child psychology, snoring therapy, obesity and weight loss, chess therapy, and the GAPS diet. I enjoy addressing a variety of issues, but the underlying approach remains the same in every encounter. I believe in positive psychology and the power of internal and external resources and values. These help individuals, couples, and families find and implement optimal, future-oriented solutions.
My Experience
My psychological approach is clearly demonstrated in my book Snoring. I believe that even seemingly small problems can lead to significant issues—snoring by one partner, for example, can result in frustration and marital conflict. On the other hand, snoring might appear to be a minor issue, but it can point to a deeper underlying conflict.
My primary goal is to help individuals in relationships or marriages build more harmonious connections by improving communication, problem-solving skills, and conflict-resolution abilities.
In my private practice, I work alongside my husband, Miklós Baktay, whenever possible. We focus on the strengths and resources of our clients, drawing on their past experiences to help guide them toward solutions.
The topics of my dissertations, theses, and conference presentations cover a broad range, including communication, child psychology, snoring therapy, obesity and weight loss, chess therapy, and the GAPS diet. I enjoy addressing a wide variety of issues, but the underlying approach remains consistent in every encounter. I believe in the principles of positive psychology and the power of internal and external resources and values. These help individuals, couples, and families find and implement optimal, future-oriented solutions.
