While I have close to 30 years experience as a licensed physical therapist, I realized early on that traditional western medicine, while having its definite benefits, also had some shortcomings. I sought out alternative therapist within 6 months of graduation and saw that thinking outside of the box was helpful to my patients. I studied myofascial release and craniosacral therapies, studying directly under John Barnes in Sedona. I learned how the body holds onto trauma and the skills to assist my patients to release physical and sometimes emotional trauma.I did my research and decided to pursue reiki and hypnosis. Talk about a eureka moment!! I love how these modalities allow patients to tap into their own potential and allow well being. Thoughts and beliefs held in the subconscious can hinder recovery and keep people “stuck”. Through the modalities, old thoughts and beliefs can be released, allowing the client to move toward their path to health.
