About Melissa
I am a certified clinical hypnotherapist and enjoy working from a mind-body wellness approach that is person-centered and unique to each individual. I have experience working with neurological disorders and neuropsychological challenges and concerns: Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, life stress, goal setting, marital/relationship challenges, sex and intimacy challenges, low self-esteem, Bipolar, Trauma/PTSD, codependency, and addiction.
I like to integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches, including: Hypnotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Imago Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Tantra, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I am also interested in integrating the latest technologies into treatment (Neurofeedback, QEEG, and Biofeedback), in line with the latest neuroscientific research.
I am a doctoral candidate of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles in the Applied Clinical Psychology program. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. I also specialize in sex and couples’ therapy and am a Certified Advanced Tantra Educator. I am also Certified in CBT-TF (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – Trauma Focused).
I have studied somatic healing and energy work over the last ten years. I studied with Taoist Master, Mantak Chia in Chiang Mai, Thailand (Energy Mastery and Healing. Connection of mind, body and spirit through psychological and somatic healing), and with Lynda Caesara and TJ Bartel (Elements of Energy Mastery, focused on emotional and psychological regulation as well as healing and helping others heal). I am also a Yoga Instructor (200-Hour Hatha and Tantra Yoga), Certified International Practitioner of Holistic Medicine in Bali, and Hot Yoga Certified in Los Angeles, California.
In addition, I studied Buddhism for Psychotherapy at the Vajra Yogini Institute in the South of France, and Drama Therapy for Addiction: Healing the Effects of Trauma, Shame and Regret at DTI (Drama Therapy Institute). I also studied with Charu Morgan (tantra, women’s pleasure, and mindfulness meditation).
My Experience
I enjoy helping clients recenter and learn emotional regulation tools to help support them in their fast paced lives. I have experience working with neurological disorders and neuropsychological challenges and concerns: Anxiety, ADHD, Depression, Bipolar, life stress, goal setting, marital/relationship challenges, Trauma/PTSD, codependency, sexual concerns, and addiction. I have worked with both children and adults specializing in neuropsychology. I also specialize in Sex and couples therapy and am a certified Advanced Tantra Educator. I also trained at OPICA in West Los Angeles working with adults challenged by memory loss associated with dementia, Alzheimer’s and Traumatic Brain Injuries.
