About serge
Registered hypnotherapist, state of Washington (#HP61141748); Member and consulting hypnotist, National Federation of Hypnotists and National Guild of Hypnotists
Des Moines, Washington
I am here to help you lead a happier, healthier life. My background is in clinical behavioral sciences, with an emphasis on medical and interpersonal communication issues. I work with dental and medical anxiety and stress, relationship challenges and personal goal achievement, pain reduction and management, creating a great sex life, sleep problems, sports performance improvement, habit cessation (e.g., smoking, weight loss), and optimizing relaxation as well as mindfulness and emotion control. Sessions are in-person or via Zoom.
My professional and academic training includes guided relaxation, clinical hypnotherapy, autogenic biofeedback, and a commitment to an open, unconditional positive regard in working with all clients. Also an ordained minister, I understand the important balance between mind, body, and spirit for a whole, satisfying life. I’ve even worked with NASA using autogenic biofeedback and guided meditation to reduce motion sickness for astronauts in space!
“Whether you’re trying to stop grinding your teeth, working on a complex relationship decision, managing pain, or wanting to improve your golf game, let’s talk about what we can do to help you live a fulfilling and happy life.”
My academic background includes Southern Methodist University (SMU), the University of Houston, Golden Gate University, and the Northwest Hypnosis Institute. Professionally, in addition to my clinical work, I have worked in the technology industry, am a six-time Olympic photographer and journalist, and author of 16 published books on several topics. I am a former competitive international fencer and an active sailor.
I am married with two grown children and three grandchildren. I live in the Pacific Northwest.
My Experience
I have experience in practicing clinical hypnotherapy sessions for a variety of areas, including stress and anxiety, relationship issues (child/parent, couples), male sexuality challenges (e.g., ED, PE, etc.), intimacy problems, alternative lifestyle and relationship issues, OCD-related problems, hypertension, managing pain (numerous types), guided relaxation, smoking/vaping addiction, weight loss, goal setting and improving self-image/confidence, career changes, sports performance, dental and medical anxiety, improving sleep/helping with sleep challenges, nocturnal bruxing (teeth grinding), IBS, hypertonic pelvic floor disorder, COVID-19 anxiety, speaking/public performance anxiety/stage fright, managing grief improving memory, overcoming past trauma, past-life regression (resolving the past), and anger control, as well as other areas.
In addition to hypnotherapy, I provide therapeutic sound/music sessions. I often use techniques in neuro-linguistic programming, conversational hypnosis, and autogenic biofeedback.
