About helen
I am an experienced and Accredited member of the British Association for counselling and psychotherapy. I have worked as a Counsellor/psychotherapist, Supervisor an in the Public (NHS, Education & third sector) and Private sector for over 30 years.
I also work as a lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy. My core training is in the person-centred approach and have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief therapy, EMDR and Hypnotherapy.
My Experience
I am an experienced and Accredited member of the British Association for counselling and psychotherapy. I have worked as a Counsellor/psychotherapist, Supervisor in the Public (NHS, Education & third sector) and Private sector for over 30 years. I also work as a lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy My core training is in the person-centred approach and have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief therapy, EMDR and Hypnotherapy .
I have a particular interest in working with the impact of Trauma, especially the impact of Sexual Violence. I have worked with Rape and Sexual Abuse charitable organisations as child/adult counsellor and supervisor for over 20 years.
More recently I have worked in the NHS as a Specialist Neonatal counsellor supporting families through their NICU experience. I also have experience in bereavement counselling particularly in relation to baby loss.
I work with children, young people and adults around issues relating to trauma, sexual violence; depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, work related stress; identity; bereavement and health issues.
