I live in Castlethorpe, near Milton Keynes with my wife and family. I graduated from University with a BA Hons degree in Sociology. I then went on to train as a teacher and taught at a variety of different schools for 30 years, before retraining as a Hypnotherapist and Counsellor. Having experienced my own mental health challenges I found a way through these, using hypnotherapy and counselling. The impact of the treatment I received was transformational and inspired me to help other people achieve their goals and peace of mind.
Having been awarded the Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills (Cert Hyp CS) I am qualified to treat a wide variety of conditions and phobias. I believe that Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is essential and I am currently working towards achieving the Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory (Diploma CST). The capability and capacity of our subconscious mind fascinates me and it is the ability we all have to change which is most exciting to me.
I also work with 'Little Miracles', a charity which supports families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions.
I am committed to helping and understanding each individual client and genuinely care about each person I work with, to ensure that they receive the best possible outcome and treatment available. I do this by providing a professional service and making sure that I am constantly up to date with the latest research into hypnosis and counselling. I look forward to meeting you!

I found my sessions with Richard really useful. He has such a calming nature and is extremely easy to talk to. Richard discussed what my issues were and what I wanted to achieve and I really felt he cared about what I was saying. I wasn’t sure if I would feel a bit self conscious doing the hypnotherapy but Richard made me feel really comfortable and I actually found myself really relaxing into it. I couldn’t believe how quickly I went into a deep relaxation. It’s amazing how he managed this when I usually take so long to fall asleep and relax. Richard has given me the tools and confidence to work on things in my own time too, which feels really empowering.

My session with Richard has really benefited me. After one session of hypnotherapy I have been able to stop biting my nails, which is something I’ve been trying to do for years. His calming nature made the topic easily approachable and I felt really comfortable the whole time. I now take forward the coping mechanisms he has taught me and apply them to everyday life. I’m grateful for the fact that I now have control over what was previously a big issue.
