Rhythmic Body Disorder Relaxation Hypnosis Script

Rhythmic Body Disorder Relaxation

Rhythmic Body Disorder (aka Stereotypic Movement Disorder) is characterized by repetitive and non-functional motion.

This behavior is commonly associated with mental retardation, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other related disorders, it can also occur in normal children and adults.

Although Rhythmic Body Disorder might seem similar to other tic disorders such as Tourette's Syndrome or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), it is distinctly different.

The actions associated with previously mentioned movement disorders typically cause increased distress to sufferers.

However, the non-functional motion usually has a comforting effect on those with the disorder, just as in toddlers who use head-banging and thumb-sucking to reassure themselves.

This script was designed to help clients who physically rock themselves in order to achieve the comfort that they desire, however can easily be adapted for other situations.

Please note: this session is intended for relaxation purposes only. It is not a medical or therapeutic device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition or disease.
