Childhood Trauma Hypnosis Script

As the script's title suggests, it describes a train journey (with a trusted adult who is there to protect them) - to a beautiful castle in an enchanted forest where they can explore the lightness and brightness of its rooms.

The visualization can help the child to overcome leftover feelings of darkness, and empowering affirmations are included in the script.

The script does not mention the original trauma, and so it can be adapted for children who have experienced other types of situations.

We recommend that children who have experienced a traumatic event are offered counselling to avoid memories resurfacing later in the child's life. Child psychotherapy can also help, and this script is a useful adjunct to psychotherapy, or it can be related to the child by their parent as part of a bedtime story routine.

The child should be encouraged to discuss their feelings, and any questions should be answered as honestly and sensitively as deemed appropriate for the child's age and level of understanding.
