Sedona Method Rendered PSTEC ineffective

Okay...so I was doing this method called "PSTEC" and I won't go into how it works, but essentially you are suppose to think about a belief and the negative memories, but during the session he asks you to "think REALLY hard about your belief" and the harder I tried, the harder it was for me to imagine the belief...so I decided that I wanted to use TSM to let go of needing to think really hard when he tells me to...because I felt that because I couldn't think about it when he asked me to think hard that I wasn't doing it properly....so now the method doesn't seem to be working the way it should...how could I undo this so that (PSTEC) works again for me?
