Parkinsons
I have a new client, an 82 year old man who is seeking help with Parkinson's disease and managing his symptoms. The fascinating thing is that when he is busy or interacting he doesn't shake at all (left hand and left leg). The moment he sits still or relaxes the shaking starts. He has been on medication for 10 years which hasn't been adjusted and the condition hasn't changed. He believes he can reduce the frequency and severity of the shaking by reprogramming his mind. The challenge is getting him into hypnosis to do this, because as soon as he relaxes the shaking starts and distracts him. Any thoughts?

before doing hypnotherapy i was a massage therapist for many years and had several Parkinson's clients - i noticed that energy work settled the jerking but massage did not. I wonder if, when I was channeling energy, the brain was wondering "what is happening' and when I was doing massage there was a predictability to what was occurring. In other words, the mind was open for change during energy work. I don't know. I know research shows massage helps reduce stress and increase relaxation and improve motor function but it's difficult to relax muscles in contracture without lots of time. I would love to know if anyone has success in treating symptoms of Parkinsons with hypnosis!

I have the same problem, if I think about falling I will fall, if I think about any of my Parkinsons symptoms I will suffer.

Hello Kim, I had a client who was able to stop shaking when we made a positive contact to the best parts of his past.
