Fear of religious crosses, Jesus and crucifixion
My client grew up in a very religious household and attended church each week as a child. She was terrified of Jesus on the cross, crucifixion and images of him laying dying on Mary. She’s now unable to attend church for friend’s weddings or christenings or have her own child christened. Her family home as a child was a shrine to these images. She still loves her religion, she just wants to break the phobia and fear. She can’t bear the ‘brutality of the images, the nails or wounds’, she really struggles around Easter time too and will not watch any TV for fear of being triggered. She’s never been harmed or abused or threatened by religion. Can anyone please recommend a script to help or one I can adapt to aid her. Thank you so much.
