Just read a book and I'm confused

I just read "The Everything self hypnosis self hypnosis book" and I'm a little confused. I think it says I should record a template with a script and listen to it only once. Then record and listen to a follow up recording for the next 20 days.

I have zero experience with self hypnosis, or any kind of hypnosis really, but that seems odd. Shouldn't I be listening to that first recording everyday?

Here's the section of the book in talking about:

"First you must decide on the topic that you would like to hypnotize yourself for. Then insert your script in your desired template depending on whether you prefer an analytical or nonanalytical session. Utilizing whichever form of self-hypnosis you choose, listen to that session for the first day. Once the specific suggestions are put into your subconscious mind, they will remain there permanently and your desired positive change has been made as long as you were not rebelling against the suggestions. In order for this change to remain permanent, listen to the follow-up session found in Chapter 5 in the section titled Follow Up for Success. Listen to this exact same session each and every day starting with day two and for the remaining nineteen days."

Can anyone enlighten me?

Hi John, I'm not familiar with the book you're reading but therapists need to be flexible with their treatment plans and if you're working from scripts these might need adapting from time to time which wouldn't be possible if you're listening to the same session for 20 days.

Hi, if you type Covid into the search box on Hypnotic World it will show you scripts and MP3s on the topic.

Do not overcomplicate self-hypnosis with a gentle progressive muscle relaxation or an eye fixation that can work very well. I have found also visualization can take you into a light hypnotic enjoyable state. You can experience hypnosis on my youtube channel a lot of videos there, contact me I am happy to help you further but sure you can master self-hypnosis for great results

Hi John
I have read this book, it is a very good book. You can listen to the recorded main sessions each day and use the short general follow-up session to enhance the effect of the main session. This way you get a much better result.
