Fear of being out of ones depth

Hi,client wants to enjoy holiday involving swimming /snorkling but terrified when out of her depth or cant touch the bottom ---father threw in when 5 as a way of getting her to swim !! didnt work.
<p>can vaguely swimm when in shallow end however.
