Eat What You Want and Lose Weight
If you are trying to lose weight and looking for the best diet plans in order to help you then you have our sympathies. There are so many conflicting diet plans around "" high carb "" high or low protein, reduced calories, F Plan, Atkins Diet to name just a few "" it must be so confusing for you.
Recent studies published in the New England Journal of Medicine followed 811 overweight participants following one out four different diet plans. All included 90 minutes of exercise a week.
Every participant lost weight ""around 2 inches from their waist and about 9 pounds in actual weight loss.
This tells us that it really doesn't matter which diet plan you follow "" as long as you are conscientious about your eating and choose healthy options "" and "" more importantly "" exercise "" then you are bound to lose weight.
Eating in moderation is natural for every slim person. You may know someone (I've known a few "" I was even one of those people a few years ago) who can eat as much as they want and never put a pound on. The reason they don't gain weight is because they are active.
Experts talk about metabolism but many of them don't even realize what the word means. Your metabolism equates to the effort that you put into burning energy. The more effort you input the stronger and healthier your metabolism is.
You can eat the healthiest and smallest amount of food for years and actually gain weight.
This happens when you are living a sedentary lifestyle.
Have you noticed how many rich people gain weight because they no longer have to do things for themselves?
Let's take TV presenters or certain other celebrities as an example.
If you are as old as I am then you might recognize some of them from when they were young, slim and full of energy.
In many cases, the more successful they become the less time they have to exercise their bodies.
The ultimate result is that they gain weight and ultimately become prone to problems such as heart failure, stroke (which can also be attributed to the stressful lifestyle that they are living), arthritis, depression, diabetes and many other health problems.
If you seriously want to lose weight then eat what you want "" in moderation.
Eat and enjoy your meals - but more importantly, ensure that you exercise regularly.
Exercise needn't be strenuous.
You can do the things that you enjoy doing, perhaps gardening, dancing, walking, swimming (which is exceptionally good for you if you have joint problems as your body is virtually weightless in water), skipping, cycling, taking your dog for regular walks if you have one - (alternatively you could volunteer to walk someone else's dog), playing your favourite sport, running around after your kids, cleaning the house, rock climbing, - if you're a kid at heart you could always buy yourself a hula hoop and burn of the excess calories that way - the list is endless.
Just go and do it.
Keep active and eat healthily.
Do what you enjoy doing and stay slim.
