Introduction
Hypnotic World International Academy of Hypnotherapy offers
intensive training by experienced therapists in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.

Learning to hypnotize someone does not just involve inducing a trance and
offering suggestions—there is a wealth of exciting information to be learned and
this Course teaches you how to deal competently with anything, from simple habit
disorders such as overeating and nail biting, to stress and panic attacks,
irrational fears and phobic responses.
The Professional Hypnotherapy Course assumes no previous knowledge of the
subject, but will be of equal value to those already in the healing profession.
Many students go on to run their own successful private Hypnotherapy practice,
others use it for self improvement and personal growth.

You may work through the manuals at your own pace and submit the completed
exercise papers which are supplied with each Lesson. Each paper is marked and
returned to you with the next Module.
Scripts
Many Hypnotherapists use these scripts when they first begin to practice,
however after a short while you will find yourself making your own, to suit
individual client requirements.
The material in the Course will prepare you for many of the situations you are
likely to encounter during your career as a Hypnotherapist, whether it is
helping someone to stop smoking or more complex issues such as Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder.
Tutorials
You may wish to take advantage of the personal tuition offered as an optional
part of their training. You will be offered an opportunity to hypnotize and be
hypnotized under the guidance of your tutor. Further sessions comprise working
in small groups as you practice different techniques.
Media
As a Professional Hypnotherapist you will meet people from all walks of life.
You may be asked to appear on radio, TV. or to write articles for newspapers or
magazines. The Hypnotherapy Association has a Media Team with volunteers who
regularly liaise with the press and other media, sending successful case
histories and responding to news articles, in order to promote the benefits of
hypnotherapy.
Course Syllabus
The Course examines some of the concepts of Freud and Jung as a
basis to understanding the personality and its relationship to analytical
procedures.
The Course draws upon the works of respected authorities such as Milton
Erickson, David Cheek and Ernest Rossi and an understanding of communicating
with the subconscious mind through the use of ideomotor signaling is developed
to deal with a wide range of psychosomatic problems. An introduction to NLP,
language patterns and eye movements is also given consideration.
You will develop an understanding of anxiety states and how resolving
unconscious conflicts can help clients to move forward. Pain Relief can be
achieved through the correct application of hypnosis, as can freedom from
addictive behaviour such as smoking, overeating, gambling, etc.
Throughout the Course you will demonstrate an understanding of the modules
through papers containing case histories and questions relating to the Course.
Whilst it is accepted that there are sometimes no right or wrong answers, you
will be encouraged to think around and ‘dig deep’ into the origins of the
presented problem.
Support is given throughout and you are encouraged to attend the workshops if
possible in order to continue with your professional development and meet others
who are working in this exciting field.
Keeping in contact via emails and telephone conversations is useful for when you
begin your own hypnotherapy practice as it helps to exchange ideas, news, and
keep up to date with developments in the world of hypnotherapy. Continued
professional development is considered an important aspect of this profession
and we aim to provide this with our informative workshops and seminars.
The student learns when and how to use suggestion therapy and is taken through a
course of analytical therapy in order to see the different stages reached as
therapy progresses. Transference and resistance is examined and ways of dealing
with these problems, should they arise, will be discussed.
Age regression and the issues surrounding false memory syndrome are given
consideration and we take a look at the belief of past life regression and its
relationship to therapy.
Hypnotherapists employ different techniques when hypnotising children and a
special section is devoted to this, with treatment procedures for stammering,
enuresis (bed wetting), thumb sucking and other problems explained in detail.
The Course also provides you with all the necessary resources to begin
practicing hypnotherapy - including consent forms, press releases, evaluation
forms, scripts, glossary of hypnotic terms plus a wealth of advice about
starting up and continuing in business—and much more.
A newsletter is sent out periodically, to which students and hypnotherapists are
welcome to contribute.

Internet support is provided free of charge at any time after registering your
application and we endeavor to answer all email queries within 24 hours of
receipt.
This Course is designed to teach you all you need to know to launch your own
successful Hypnotherapy practice and is especially suitable for those wishing to
treat clients with a wide range of symptoms
Examination
At the end of the Course there is a written examination which can be completed
in your own time. You will also be required to submit an induction tape of your
own making, (either video or audio). Although this may not sound easy at this
moment in time, by the end of this Course you will be more than competent in all
areas.
Remember, individual support and advice is available throughout.
The examination will demonstrate your capability as a Therapist and you will
receive support and guidance both throughout the Course and afterwards (by email
and/or telephone). The examination assimilates everything that is taught in the
Course Lessons, however in the unlikely event that a student is not quite ready
upon reaching the final stage, additional help and a further chance to take the
examination is offered free of charge.
Diploma
The Diploma of Hypnotherapy is issued to successful students on completion of
the examination, entitling you to use the letters DHP Acc.Hyp after your name.
Investment
Your training in Hypnotherapy is an investment for the future. Many
Complementary Therapists begin by practicing their chosen therapy in the
evenings and at weekends whilst they build up their reputation and confidence.
Hypnotherapy is a career for life
There is no upper age limit for Hypnotherapists, unlike many other professions
or occupations and the more life experience you possess the higher your
credibility with clients, which can in turn increase your success with clients.
Although there are no educational requirements for this Course, it is
recommended that students are at least 25 years old and have an interest in
psychology or human nature.
The Professional Hypnotherapy Practitioner Association
Successful completion of the Course and examination allows you to receive two
years FREE membership to the Professional Hypnotherapy Practitioner Association
(PHPA).
The aim of the PHPA is to encourage professionals who share a common interest in
hypnotherapy to share skills and knowledge through newsletters, discussion
forums and annual meetings, and to offer a referral system for clients seeking
information and hypnotherapy. We also aim to offer specialized workshops on
related issues at a discounted price in the near future.
Associated membership of the PHPA is available after two years when members have
the opportunity to offer paid personal tuition to new members of the
Association.
The course is also approved by the Hypnotherapy Society and the American Board
of Hypnotherapy whose associations you'll be able to join in
order to attain professional indemnity insurance.
Once qualified you can set up your private practice anywhere you like. A section
of the Course covers all that you need to know to do this successfully. You will
also receive ongoing support after qualifying, if and when you need it.
